PRESS RELEASE

£10,000 bonanza for the Blind Society

This week the Isle of Wight Society for the Blind have taken delivery of a £10,000 cheque!

The money has been raised to celebrate 100 years of service by the Rotary Movement. The 8 Island Clubs- Cowes, Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Vectis Sunrise, Ventnor and West Wight- represent some 250 Rotarians. They decided that their project should have the Isle of Wight Blind Society as the beneficiary.

Refurbished premises being established by the Society at Carisbrooke, include the provision of a new recording studio for producing talking Newspapers etc. The Rotary money is going towards the studio and the equipment required.

Chairman Ian Bast and Director Olive Light warmly welcome this generous gift.
